Home for the Holiday

I'm so glad I have my family. I don't really like "the situation" right now (does anybody watch Jersey Shores? I don't but my friends always quote it and that's a quote from it. Anyways) but I'm glad that Lindsay is here. Sometimes I forget that my sisters have gone through the same things I go through..or almost the same things. Maybe I could just trade her places for a few days so she can straighten my life out and I can be more grateful in the end that I'm not a young mother. Eh, nevermind, I don't know how well that would work.
But I love my sister Lindsay. And I'm excited to see Kim! And I wish Steph and Cami could be here. But, I love them anyway. Sisters are the best.

Googled

I was on the phone with my sister the other day and we were talking about how creepy it is to google your own name and find the real you as one of the top listings. She said her blog, when you typed in her name, was pretty high up. So today, being the good student I am, I took time during my computer class to look up each of my siblings. It was quite disturbing.
Stephanie's blog came up as the 3rd most popular link. I believe her twitter page was 4 or 5.
Lindsay was #1 for her facebook page, #3 for her blog.
Cami's facebook was #2, second only to her wedding registry page. That was the only real you, thank goodness.
Not that I didn't see that coming..I guess I always knew that was a possibility but it's still slightly weird to be seeing my family as easy targets on the internet. You never know what can happen with sick people trying to scam innocent facebookers/bloggers.
You all can be googled. Who knows, maybe it will be me next time. I suppose better me than..someone else? haha.
I'M GOING TO THE OWL CITY FEAT. KESHA CONCERT TONIGHT! Oh my gosh. I've only been to one concert in my life (Carrie Underwood) and not that it wasn't amazing but now I'm going with my best friend and I absolutely LOVE both of the artists performing so I'm super d duper excited. Other than that, the only more exciting thing is the fact that I'm going to see my family next week! Thank the high heavens, it has been far too long.

Dear Blog..

Dear blog,
are you sad that I haven't written in a while? I'm sorry blog, I've been busy. Being a senior makes your life busy sometimes, especially when you're a senior as cool as me!
I'd love to catch you up, Blog, but I feel like I need to document something else: Cray. Cray (her real name is Tarah) is one of my best friends, and she is moving the day after Christmas. Oh Blog, what do I do? I know moving is good for you, it helps you become a better person. But I can't make her see that, it's something she has to experience for herself to understand completely. But Blog, it's so hard for me to watch her be so sad all the time; we had our LAST concert together the other night, everything is the LAST one, we're always trying to make one more inside joke before she leaves...it's sad. I know I was probably the same way when I was moving but it's still hard to understand. On Sunday, her best friend Gabby (whom I call "Best Friend Gabby" every time I see her) threw her a surprise going-away party. I went and had so much fun and took pictures...these are the results.
Cray, I know you don't know I blog, and that you'll probably never read this, but: I love you so much and I know you'll do fine in Indianapolis or wherever life takes you. Don't forget all of our funny jokes and how special you are, even if you're not "my mom". Wreck the mike Cray, wreck the mike.

Holidays are upon us!...

and I am SO EXCITED! We got back about midnight on saturday (or, between saturday and sunday? I never know what day to call it when it's midnight) and although we were pretty tired, I'm glad we decided not to stop in Dallas for the night. I was so glad to be home!
Of course, when you miss school, things catch up with you. Nothing major luckily, but still I feel like there's secret knowledge I missed out on! I'm trying to catch up. And all the stress of doing that is TOTALLY worth the trip to Utah! I miss my family so much, it's good to see them every once in a while. Ty and Brynn are getting so big, I can't believe it! I keep telling all my friends about how cute Ty is, how he told Grandpa to stop "petting [him] like a cat!" Oh gosh he's cute. And seeing friends was so fun too- we took a road trip up to Park City just for fun and made some great memories there. Honestly I was just glad to get away for a little while! Vacations are always nice. And I can hardly wait for the next one! Only 3 weeks till winter break, and that 3rd week is exam week which should be easy for me since I'm only taking 2 exams! (Finally the benefits of being a senior are kicking in)
Today I officially finished my BYU application! WHAT?! I know. I finally typed up those essays and clicked the 'submit' button. Then I proceeded to let out a probably-too-loud squeal and "I'M DONE" for all to hear. Well, at least Sarah. That's a huge load off my shoulders, now I can focus on finishing my online classes and other homework.
Even though it's monday I can hardly wait for Friday! I'm going shopping with my friend which will be SO fun and on Saturday it's Remi's birthday so he's treating me and a few other choir friends out to Neiman's Cafe! I've never been to a fancy restaurant like that so I'm excited to get all dressed up and feel sophisticated with some of my best friends! Then saturday night will be a much-needed girls night with Lexi, Emma, Catrin, and Katie. YES I love having weekends like this when I don't have choir auditions to worry about.
Speaking of choir: all you Utah people, I left my binder there! I think it might be at Grandpa Backus' (or Backi as Andrew calls us) house but if you see it or hear about it PLEASE let me know and send it to me ASAP! Practicing for the most important audition of your high school career isn't easy when you don't have the music!
Well, better run work on Pre-cal. Gross. ANother thing I'm so glad is half over.

WOah!

I feel like it has been way way way too long since I blogged! Sorry bout that folks. I have been quite busy! In fact, I just finished what I think has been and will be the most stressful week of my senior year. But hey, it's over now right? And I made it through with relatively few breakdowns and I got a ton more sleep than I thought I would. Here are some major updates you should probably know about in case I start talking about them in future blog posts:
1) I made area!!!!!!!!! This is a big deal to me, even if it's not to you. I got 3rd chair in the audition and now I have a 50% chance of making it into the ALL-STATE TREBLE CHOIR. and a 25% chance of bein in the ALL-STATE MIXED CHOIR ("which is virtually held in the same regard as the holy grail" for any high school choir student in Texas). So I'm pumped. Area auditions are on January 9, 2010. Get pumped
2) i have a job! I mean I've been hired for a while but I started working! I am a lifeguard at Lifetime Fitness and I LOVE it. The staff is so much fun and it's so chill! Plus I just like being around a pool again. And I get a free membership, that's always nice.
3) I'm going to Utah TODAY! I'm so so so so sooooo excited. Seriously. I hope work goes by quick because I'm leaving right after work. Again, GET PUMPED.
4) I had Homecoming a few weeks ago, guess I should've blogged about that one. It wasn't bad but it wasn't that good either. I didn't really like my group too much and let's just say that I will avoid party-busses like a plague now. Gross. But I loved my dress that Mom made for me, I'll have to post a picture if I can find one.
5) I am busy and happy. But out of everything going on I'm most excited to see Tyler and Brynlee. I mean my siblings are great but man those nieces and nephews..I miss them!
And I promise to be better about updating you one piece at a time so I can go into more detail!
